truffles68 Posted January 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2010 I have just booked two staterooms directly below the dining room on the Magic. I did not look at the deck plan when I booked. Will the rooms be noisy ? When do the crew do the vacuuming in the dining room ?Would anyone who has stayed in the rooms below the dining rooms please let me knowl. Thanks. SCFCRUISER Posted January 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2010 Chances are, that you will hear noise from above. You always look above & below the cabin that you are choosing before you make your booking.
tinabinab Posted January 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2010 You may hear noise, but I doubt it will be that bothersome. We were below the buffet dining tables on the Conquest and I only occassionally heard shuffling of chairs and such. If its a main dining area, the prime time for activity will be dinner, and I'd guess you'd probably be out of your room for much of that time frame anyway. We are under the main dining table area on our Aug Dream trip and I'm not worried about it - there are much worse / noisier areas to be beneath! :)
kthy66 Posted January 20, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2010 We were below the dining room on our recent valor cruise.. I think we heard a bump on our last night aboard... otherwise we didn't hear a thing.
yst347 Posted January 20, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2010 We have had cabins both below and above dining rooms and had no noise issues. We once had a cabin below the galley and that was very noisy. It sounded like tanks rolling above us.
Froufie Posted January 20, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 20, 2010 Have been below the dining room (in those special 1A cabins - now 6B) several times and never heard a sound you will be fine (I believe if you are under the galley you may get more noise!) GayleR Posted January 20, 2010 #7 Share Posted January 20, 2010 We had 2 cabins below the dining room on the Triumph. Never heard a sound. You should be ok unless you plan to be in your cabin during dinner time....

ehfl Posted January 20, 2010 #9 Share Posted January 20, 2010 Any cabin can be noisy. Smart travelers always carry earplugs. I highly recommend being a smart traveler.

Good point but let's not mislead anyone; carrying earplugs doesn't make one a smart traveler. :)

defjam Posted January 20, 2010 #12 Share Posted January 20, 2010 I'm deaf but i wear 2 hearing aids, however they come off at night when i go to sleep so there's finally 1 advantage of being deaf :p' anyways, reason i'm here - if you "that concerned" about noises while sleeping the simplest solution is to buy ear plugs.....and i'm not trying to be sarcastic.... Have had cabins above & below dining rooms with no problems at all with noise. Got under the galley once & over the disco once - those were horrible.
