reddirtgirl Posted January 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2010 I have a question regarding hotels in Ft.Lauderdale; we'll be there in april for 2 days pre-cruise & 1 day post cruise; We're looking for an economical hotel offering shuttle service to airport/cruiseport and close to amentities; any suggestions? also, anyone here have any advice on using hotwire.com to obtain their hotel booking? we've never used a service like this and am a bit nervous of booking a hotel offered at low-cut prices without knowing first the hotel name. how risky is this & what are your chances of getting a dive? what if you're not happy with the hotel they pick for you? can you cancel? Thanks for any advice you can give us; we're first time cruisers and any and all help is appreciated.

Pick 3* or better to avoid a dive. Once you commit you cannot cancel. Go to betterbidding.com for details on areas and likely choices for both sites. eandj Posted January 26, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2010 Using Priceline to bid or Hotwire to take the mystery hotels, won't give you a bad hotel if you sitck to 3.5 star and above. You need to familiarize yourself witht he area however, so you get a hotel inthe area you prefer. There is much to be know before bidding on Priceline. Hotwire is easy. Pick a star rating in a particular area from their list of offereings. Then go to betterbidding.com and find the Hot Wire LIST OF HOTELS for ft. L and match the amenities offered. You'll narrow down your possible hotels.
