Spirit in December

We are considering a cruise on the Spirit in early December. Our cruise on the Sun was cancelled due to the ship being chartered (I have already posted on that, more to come later).

 

The Spirit leaves out of New Orleans. I was wondering if anyone has cruised out of New Orleans in early December. What kind of weather can we expect for our first sea day and our last day at sea when we will be in the the northern Gulf of Mexico?

We have done that cruise twice. That sea day can be anywhere from calm to choppy. The Gulf is rather shallow and the weather can change within a few days. I tend to get seasick, but love that cruise and we are doing it again in March. See below.
