The thing that we were most surprised about was how the Canyon Ranch Spa scored.

We recently had the opportunity to attend a Canyon Ranch event and they are over the moon about the facility that is being installed "from the ground up" (their words) on the Marina.

I was not enthused by the Artists Loft and sent a suggestion to Oceania that they might consider making it more of a multi-purpose place that could host lectures and small meetings as well as function as an Artists loft. I pointed out there are many small groups that meet in Horizons that could benefit from a private meeting room such as nutrition lectures, even cruise critic parties.

I pointed out that the Loft was not getting much excitement on Cruise Critic.

I received a reply that the Artist Loft was expected to be one of the most popular feature of Marina as it has been on their other ships(?)

I was also told that the purpose of Horizons was to be a multipurpose space for lectures, games etc.

Finally I was told that the members of Cruise Critic represented a small percentage of their guests and any poll did not represent a true sampling of their guests.

Very interesting.

Ed & Frank-

I'm not really sure that we can appreciate the value of the Artists' Loft until we know what kinds of activities O is going to sponsor there.

As to making it into a meeting room, the Marina already has one (called the Board Room) on Deck 14 right next to Oceania @ Sea.

Look for Marina Cruise Critic Parties to be held in La Reserve. A huge improvement for us; not only is it private, but it has an indoor/outdoor option which will be glorious if the weather is fine.

Cruise Critic may only represent a small percentage of Oceania's guests, but the line surely recognizes that we are a vocal percentage.

Oceania DEFINITELY monitors our input (heck, the CEO posts here regularly) and values our business.

You can take THAT to the bank!.

While it is called the Artists Loft, I got the distinct impression that it will be used for much more than "art" in the classic sense. Classes in various crafts like needlework have always been popular, and now will have a "home".

However, if it doesn't turn put to be popular once introduced, I'm sure it can easily be adapted to some other use...
