Belize Beach Day

We'll be in Belize with Carnival Legend in early March. Can anyone suggest a good beach excursion for just relaxing? My wife and I have been to Belize once before and went on a snorkel trip with lunch included which was great but this time we're taking our 4 year old son so don't think the snorkeling will work out. Just looking for a nice day at a beach. Anyone know of a good excursion or maybe something we can do on our own? Thanks for any suggestions!!

I think most people go to bannister island for a beach day on Belize. the trips that leave from the ship take you directly to the beach or you can make arrangements with another operator to take you there from the port.
