Catnip Posted May 24, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 24, 2004 When I go out for my daily walks, I always listen to an audio-book. Time goes by quickly when you are really inot a good novel! (26 prior cruises & 2 flights on Concorde) It has been said that angels, while on Earth, aren't allowed to show their wings, but nothing was ever said about not showing their whiskers. <^..^>
superjerryw Posted May 24, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 24, 2004 Definitely hard rock/ heavy metal. Something loud with a fast beat to keep you going. lindalu62 Posted May 24, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 24, 2004 Great question! I do 30 minutes on the elliptical 3x weekly, and some good rockin music will really push you onward when you start to think you can't go another minute! Some of my fav's-- Destiny's child (survivor), zz top (legs!), Ted Nugent (just about anything, but I love stranglehold), Rolling Stones, Pretenders, Blondie, etc. Guess you can tell I'm a 70's and 80's girl!! I need some new music, so will watch this thread for good ideas!

suekay Posted May 25, 2004 #14 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Cruizin*tigger Thanks so much for the links. I'm a part-time (mature!) fitness instructor always looking for new music - have to keep classes coming back for more......that's how I fund my cruises!!! Dolphins My cardiac rehab class love working out to Hooked on Classics - but have to be careful not to get carried away (literally - I had to call an ambulance for one person who put a little too much effort into it!) Nimue Posted May 25, 2004 #15 Share Posted May 25, 2004 I wasn't trying to be dismissive, I've just had more success discussing weight loss on the Lose Before You Cruise board. Personally, I work out to Sheila Chandra, but I practice yoga, so you need a different type of music for that - less distracting, more designed to focus thoughts and efforts inward. 9/20/04 Sovereign of the Seas Roll Call Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once. TBRay Posted May 26, 2004 #22 Share Posted May 26, 2004 Heavy Metal all the way here. Rob Zombie and Static X is just about all I have programmed into my MP3 player (Classic 'Journey' for cool downs). Loud, fast paced, three minute songs. Elliptical, jogging, or spinning all work for me. I also LOVE the Voyager class gyms.
