I booked a 2D GTY on the solstice about 3+ weeks ago. How long does it usually take to find out the actual room assignment? If they place me in a specific room in a higher category would I then have the option to pick a different room in that same category?

Any success stories with a veranda guarantee?

 

We had a 2B guarantee and found out the specific cabin assignment around 5 weeks before sailing date.

 

We called to see what could be done to pick a different cabin in the category; because we booked through an online TA, Celebrity told us we had to deal with them.

 

Called the TA, and they said we could pick from available cabins in that category.

 

Good news is that with residency discounts, price drops, etc, we were able to move to a 1A hump cabin for $70/pp less than our original 2B guarantee, so the story had a happy ending.
