Soo confused on what to do!!!

Okay so I need some opinions here!! We are taking the Carnival Victory to 6 islands in 7 days...we will be at a different port at each day.

What I am trying to figure out, and am soo stressed out about is what island, if any, should we not do an excursion. We have booked one on each island but I am thinking I want 1, maybe 2 days where we just go on our own. What I do not know is which islands I NEED the excursion, and which would be good to just chill out!! Give me your opinion if you have any!!

St. Thomas- Booked Godfreys Tour

Dominicia- Booked Bumping Tours

Barbados- Capt Ron (really want to do this)

St. Lucia (booked COSOL- really want this one too!)

St. Kitts- Booked Rose & Jims

St. Maartin - Booked Bernards tours

What do you like to do? If you like to shop you could do that in St. Thomas. You can shop in Havensight Mall or walk into town. I have taken the tour with no beach time and it was nice. Godfrey was great and we had some excellent scenic stops.

In St. Martin you might be better off doing a tour. There is plenty of beach to enjoy for a price to use the chairs (maybe $10 and might include some beers). There are a lot of stores there as well but I would rather shop in St. Thomas.

I would do a tour in St. Kitts. There is not much there when you get off the ship. We were there 2 years ago and there was a shopping area but not much.

Haven't been to St. Lucia in years. :(

I have not been to Barbados but will be there in 4 weeks :D and will be going on Glory Tours.

Dominicia I can't remember. If it is the port that is newer to cruise ships I would say do a tour cuz there was nothing much when you get off the ship.

I agree, all tours can get tiring. I am sure you will get some great insight to your question.

Hey OakRod ,

My 2 cents . We have done your ship and all the islands

listed . It is an itinerary intensive cruise . Of the islands there

are certain ones that I think I must have an excursion . First

would be Dominica . Haven't done Bumpling but I'd keep that .

It is just a hard island to get around on on your own , to me .

For me the next would be St. Lucia another hard island to get

around on your own . I have always used Spencer but Cosul is

highly rated and I hope to use them myself just to compare .

Having stayed at and cruised to BB , I consider Ron a friend

and a big fan of Sarah his first mate . DON'T MISS THAT

EXCURSION ! Tell him Delaware said so ! St . Thomas, St

Kitts and St Martaan are tourist friendly Islands . Have always

just taken relaxed days there . St. Thomas you can jump a cab

to Megan's Bay or a Ferry to Trunk Bay on St Johns and maybe

some shopping but easy on your own and your wallet . St Kitts

have only been to South Friar's bay , twice . Just by Taxi .

St . Martaan we like Orient and Le gallion beaches . But these

last 3 Islands are jump in a cab and go for us . It's nice for

us to do our own thing and break up the highly scheduled

have to be here days and sleep in and relax . Just our opinion.

Good Luck !! Ted

Sounds great!! Have you ever gone to Maho to see the planes? That is the biggest thing I want to do there!

Hey Oakrod ,

Haven't been to Maho but I heard it's awesome to just swim and have the planes come right in . I have always felt the taxi rates ,because they are set, to be very reasonable . I guess your excited bout now and I'm jealous ! Have fun

and be safe !!! Ted

I am leave this week end and in st lucia COSOl (third time ) is great.

In Barbados; Glory tour best of barbados (2 times) is a dont miss!

St Maartin, you can walk to downton and shop, have a cold beer on the street, take a cab to the beach. I did the island twice and it is a regular island, not mutch and not less.

St Thomas, Godfrey (twice) can't go wrong for the price!

Dominica did a tour of the island, nice but like st maartin, not more and not less

St Kitts,....unknown :) never done it ....one day !

Did that kind of cruise from Puerto rico few time and this week end is the Carribean Princess from Puerto rico again and it is a 6 islands cruise, you need that day at sea at the end !!!

Have a nice cruise.

in Barbados we did a ziplining tour that was a lot of fun and then had plenty of time to get to the boatyard for the beach and drinks and then some shopping in downtown...although compared to the other ports the shopping is not quite as good (St Thomas and St Martin are the better ports)
