Has anyone ever arrive by bus into NYC and then taken a taxi from the Port Authority to the Pier?

 

If so, how much did is cost for the taxi and how long did it take from the Port Authority to the Pier?

Have not arrived at Port Authority, but have taken train into Penn Station. Taxi takes @10min and costs @$20 incl tip.

You should have no problem whatsoever.

Yes, we did this once. Maybe 10-15 minutes. Under $15 but can not remember exactly. If you look at the map, you can see they are not far from each other.

 

Make sure all your luggage is on wheels and moves well. Getting through the bus complex requires lots of walking, escalators, etc.

I took a taxi from the pier to the port authority this past November. It was a Monday morning and it took about 12-15 minutes. The meter was under $10, so plan on that + tip, depending how much luggage and if he helps you put them in the trunk.

If you need to take the taxi after the cruise, just walk across the street to the taxi stand, plenty of them.

Very easy to catch cab at Penn Station.

Yes, there are folks there to help with baggage, etc.

Taxi will drop you off right in front of appropriate terminal. Someone will take your baggage right at the curb and deliver it inside.

Truly an easy process.
