oldreb Posted January 31, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2010 Is there WiFi available in cabins on the Volendam. If so, I would bring my laptop along to use in the room instead of tying up the internet cafe machines. Thanks Phil
aussiedisneyfan Posted January 31, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2010 We were in 2536 and had no problems connecting to the wifi with our laptop. I was also told that it is a little faster using your own laptop rather than then terminals in the Explorations Cafe.

jtl513 Posted January 31, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2010 The speed doesn't differ appreciably between a laptop in your cabin and using the ship's computers because the limiting factor is the satellite link. In most cases it's like dial-up to dial-up times three. However, bringing the laptop can save you a bundle of time (and therefore money) if you have a POP3 mail handler like Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail installed so that you can do your email reading and writing off-line. Gamelan1971 Posted January 31, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2010 I used the wireless for a two week cruise on the volendam (level 6 Verandah) with no problems.
