WiFi in cabins on Volendam?

The speed doesn't differ appreciably between a laptop in your cabin and using the ship's computers because the limiting factor is the satellite link. In most cases it's like dial-up to dial-up times three.

 

However, bringing the laptop can save you a bundle of time (and therefore money) if you have a POP3 mail handler like Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail installed so that you can do your email reading and writing off-line.
