WiFi in cabins on Volendam?

Is there WiFi available in cabins on the Volendam. If so, I would bring my laptop along to use in the room instead of tying up the internet cafe machines.

We were in 2536 and had no problems connecting to the wifi with our laptop. I was also told that it is a little faster using your own laptop rather than then terminals in the Explorations Cafe.

The speed doesn't differ appreciably between a laptop in your cabin and using the ship's computers because the limiting factor is the satellite link. In most cases it's like dial-up to dial-up times three.

 

However, bringing the laptop can save you a bundle of time (and therefore money) if you have a POP3 mail handler like Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail installed so that you can do your email reading and writing off-line.

I used the wireless for a two week cruise on the volendam (level 6 Verandah) with no problems.
