We have enjoyed diving Eden Rocks and Devil's Grotto with Eden Rock Diving Center. Lots of interesting swim-throughs

http://www.edenrockdive.com/3.htm

It is only a short walk from the tender dock.

On other cruises, we have had to take the ship's dive excursion because we arrived too late for all the local dive operations boat dives.

If you are reserving a boat dive, be careful about the ship's time versus Grand Cayman time. Cayman Islands are on EST all year (no DST). Cruises starting from ports like New Orleans or Galveston (which are on central time) may or may not change the ship's clocks to match the time in Cayman.

Also, note whether prices are in Cayman $ or US $. US $ is only 0.8 of a Cayman $, so prices may be 25% higher than you realize.

I went with Neptune's divers and thought they were pretty good. You might find that some of the more recommended dive op's on the island leave too early in the morning for you to go with. Red Baron diving was also recommended to me from someone I trust.

I have heard good things about for following:

  • Divetek good choice for a shore dive away from Georgetown
  • Off the Wall Divers
  • Wall to wall diving
  • fisheye diving supposed to be good for photographers

I would probably avoid Redsail unless you are a once a year cruise ship diver who is looking for a very structured follow the leader dive of limited bottom time. You are probably not looking for a dive like this.

Check divecayman.ky for a list of most of the dive operators on the island.
