Sandel Posted January 18, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2005 Does anyone know the distance from the ship to the train station in Le Havre? Also the distance from Paris St. Lazare Station to the hop-on, hop-off bus? (any major site) We are going to try to do Paris on our own - any suggestions? Tania Posted January 18, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2005 The train station is very close to the pier in LeHavre: the taxi ride was 8 euros, way overpriced for the distance we travelled. Not walkable though if you're speeding to Paris. In 2002, we took the 7:57 train to Rouen from LaHavre which went on to Paris. BAout 2 hours to Paris. On the train, my daughter lost her wallet but some wonderful person in Paris mailed it to us. Things like that give me hope about humanity. Sorry, don't know about the rest. cberge Posted January 18, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 18, 2005 When you come out of the train station in Paris ask at the info booth where the nearest Hop/on bus stop is and they will direct you..in the right direction....The stop(s) for the L"Opentour (greenish bus) on the yellow otur # 50 is just a block or two from the station or you can walk to the Opera Garnier for stop # 58 on the yellow tour or in front of the Opera(sort of..look for the bus stop signs) and pick up the Green Tour which will offer you a lot more of the major sights as well as the Red Tour although the Yellow Tour will take you near the Sacre-Cour and the Moulin Rouge. If you do start out on the Yellow Tour the #50 stop is not to far from the dept. store Printemps and the stop itself is on rue de Clichy at the Trinity Church. There is also the Purple Tour that does the Bastille area and all 4 are included in the price of your ticket.Nice way to see paris and get around IMHO.Have fun..:)Hope this helps some.
