ericksmom Posted January 18, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2005 Which side of the ship should I be on? Not that I would not be happy on the other side.
Rare dna1990 Posted January 18, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2005 I asked myself the same question....kinda picky I guess we are? Anyway, we were on the Serenade for the Southern route, and it did make a difference. We had starboard and it worked out well for us, both in terms of majority sunsets and port views. But in thinkng about upcoming Jewel Western, I am thinking for sunsets, we will be heading West/East at that time each day (or still parked in Cozumel). So that cancelled that out, and I think for port views - it can be a random type thing. We ended up choosing starboard again, easier on the habit of knowing which way to turn at the staircase. :) Jewel looks to be a fantastic vessel, how could you go wrong? And I bet the AFT cabin fans will also chime in soon.
goodml Posted January 19, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 19, 2005 We did the Jewel 6 night in December. Had a port side balcony. In Key West we were looking at little islands, boats and the ocean. In Cozumel we had a view of the pier and its shops. In Costa Maya, we had a view of the pier but there was another ship mostly blocking the view. We didn't go to Grand Cayman (went to Nassau instead) but it's a tender port anyway so it's tough to predict what the view will be. For this itinerary, I'm not sure it matters which side you are on. superjerryw Posted January 19, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2005 The Jewel is a great ship. It doesn't matter which side you are on.
