Placement of cabin - Lower or higher?

You must consider a few things before you decide which location is better. If you are concerned about sea sickness then your best cabin would be midship and lower deck. You will feel the least movement in these areas. The higher you go so does the price. If you have an outside or balcony cabin you have a nice view when your higher up.

My personal preference is a balcony cabin toward the aft. I suggest since this is your first cruise and if you're concerned about getting seasick stay midship. ;)

I have to agree with Shifra. Just want to add that being on an upper deck will put you closer to the common areas. With that said we usually book lower, mid-ship as DW is worried about seasickness. Also, taking the stairs gives us lots of exercise.
