I will be on the Valor this month, and just wondering how many formal nights are on the 7 day cruise? And what nights are they on?

There are two Elegant nights on 7 day sailings.

Normally, the evening of the first sea day and the second on the fourth or fifth evening...

I think you make the most of it. I saw some with ball gowns on and some with simple dresses on. I wore a nice formal evening dress like you would wear to prom.

You will see all kinds. Some in a tux, suits and even just dress pants/shirt. As long as you are dressed nice, it's not a big deal. Some people really look forward to dressing to the max, but we are not those! Have a great time, the Valor is an awesome ship!

Formal nights on current Valor western itinerary were Monday (day at sea) and Thursday (Belize) evenings!

Just off the Valor a few weeks ago... Technically they are now called Elegant nights. You will see those in tuxedos and gowns and you will see those in kakis and polos. Really wide variety.

Cruise Elegant Dining Dress Code: Gentlemen - Dress slacks, dress shirts. We also suggest a sport coat. If you wish to wear suits and ties or tuxedos, by all means we invite you to do so. Ladies - Cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses; if you‘d like to show off your evening gowns, that's great too!

 

Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Elegant dinner for ladies and gentlemen: shorts, gym shorts, T-shirts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, jeans, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men, sportswear, and baseball hats.

Since Formal is now gone and they have even changed the name to Elegant nights,that should sum it up.

You can even wear dress shorts to dinner on all the other nights.
