The only way to find out is try it. You could also call the bank that

issued the card.:)

I think I worded my question wrong. I mean will Carnival accept an ATM/VISA debit card for your shipboard account rather than a regular credit card. I tried to be brief and even confused myself:confused:

Yes we use our debit card.......

Yep- I use my debit/visa card on my last 3 with no real problem. last cruise I did have slight issue since the put funds on "hold" and then charge the amount certain time each day was a delay where some was on hold (tales a few days to release) and was charged as well. Did workout in the end but make sure you tell your bank that you are cruising and where.

 

Have a great time - we are going in 24 days and I am using the debit/mastercard this time.

Thank you. This is not my problem. My daughter asked me if it could be done. We're taking the family on the cruise but they're on their own for shipboard charges - my pockets are only so deep. Thx again.

The American Express "Persona Select" is not an acceptable credit card.

Regular ATM debit cards are not acceptable.

Guests may use a checking account debit card as long as it is a registered MasterCard or Visa card.
