Normandy beach tour from La Harve

I am looking for a tour that will pick us up in La Harve and take us to Omaha beach and possibly one of the others. I am traveling with my mom who is 86 and we would like to see this but not spend 10 hours on the ships tour. We are arriving iin April on the Constellation.

I am a tour guide in Normandy and I understand your concern. I suggest you book a private tour and visit: St Mere eglise/Pointe du Hoc/American cemetery and Omaha beach. It would last 5/6 hours and cost around EU400.

We are interested as well. We are on the Crown Princess Cruise leaving Rome on June 8. We are in Le Havre on Monday, June 21. Will have a total of 5 in our group. My husband and I, his parents (78 & 79) and our 7 year old daughter.

Don't know what effect the date will have on your plans.

And it's a sunday.

Add D-Day traffic to summer sunday traffic, and you're going to need good advice from someone more local than me.:eek:

 

Car hire for delivery to the quayside on a sunday morning might be a bit problematic too.

Specialist tours may be fully booked by now.

Sunday rentals in Le Havre, won't work they aren't open on Sundays. Besides, John Bull makes some excellent points about traffic on the most High of High Holy Days for Normandy. A tour group is going to be your best - only hope.

As the others said, it's gonna be very difficult to rent a car and do a tour on your own on 6/6/2010. I think you should go on the ship's excursion or try to book a private tour right now.
