jmezmom Posted February 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2010 Is is possible to walk from the cruise port to the train station on Kettner in San Diego? We will each have a suitcase on wheels? Thanks
yogi2929 Posted February 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2010 Yes, it is a bit of a walk but it is possible. It's at the most four long blocks. http://www.sandiegocoastlife.com/maps/maps-san-diego-bay/map-embarcadero.html
todman Posted February 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2010 Wife and I did it about a year ago. A very easy walk with roller suitcases. Tod
Randy H Posted February 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2010 According to Google maps it's less than a half mile, and should take 7 minutes... Many will park further away...
kenish Posted February 11, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2010 Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt (just kidding).... With rolling luggage it takes maybe 15 minutes with stops for group photos enroute. The ships are impossible to miss from the depot and vice-versa. Happy ks Posted February 12, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 12, 2010 Just make sure you have only one bag, or the second bag attaches firmly to the other case. It's not a long walk, but the sidewalks aren't always smooth as you would like, plus walking across streets. There are handicap ramps on all street corners, so no lifting of heavy cases. We walked there from our Gaslamp Quarter hotel (not with luggage) and it took about 10 minutes once we passed the train station. We also walked across the street with luggage to the parking lot, that's about as far a walk as I want to do with more than one suitcase. If we took the train down to SD, I think we'd pack our largest suitcases so we would only have one case each, no carry ons. Lots of people are getting off the train there with luggage.
