texas2fl Posted February 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2010 We are traveling with another family and both of us will have our kids (ages 7 - 12). I am trying to determine the best night (or nights) for the parents to be able to enjoy specialty restaurants without the kids. Any advice? Thanks! algorithmannie Posted February 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2010 When choosing what nights for specialty dining, I usually try to "map out" our cruise plan. I enjoy having formal nights in the main dining room, so those are nixed for specialty dining (usually the first sea day and second to last night). I also consider what days we have excursions and different ports... I don't like to be rushing back to get ready for a fancy dinner! All that being said, I just got off Solstice and unfortunately don't know anything about their kids programs! I couldn't begin to say which nights they have special activities for the kids. You might have to just guess and make reservations. Then, when you get onboard, ask the kids program staff for their suggestion and make changes as needed. I would also guess that the kids programs vary from week to week based on how many kids there are. I heard we only had 50 kids on our Jan. 31 sailing... but there may be more in March!
