Annieeee Posted February 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2010 Hi, I heard somewhere at some pint in time that gambling is not allowed while on an Alaskan cruise. Can anyone tell me if this is true? It won't affect the cruise experience, I just like to go to the casino and play late at night. And if I can't then I simply can't. Thanks in advance for your replies. Annieeee
luvlake Posted February 11, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2010 The only time I noticed the casino being closed is when we were in port. It will open again after sailing so many miles out. It is the same on all our cruises.

Annieeee Not to fear, you will find the casino open for business shortly after it leaves port each day.:) The casino may be a bit empty late at night since Alaska cruisers tend to be up early so as not to miss the spectacular Alaskan scenery and so there may be more early birds than night owls onboard.:)
Assateague Island Princes Posted February 11, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2010 Only closed when in port.
Rare NorbertsNiece Posted February 11, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2010 RCCL has a casino age imposition so I'm guessing the other lines do too : GAMBLING POLICY Guests of eighteen (18) years of age and older are welcome to play in our casinos (for all Alaska sailings, guests must be 21 years of age in order to play in our casinos). pspercy Posted February 12, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 12, 2010 Maybe you're confusing it with Hawaii ? No gambling allowed in Hawaiian waters.
yogi2929 Posted February 12, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 12, 2010 If you cruise Alaska on Disney there will be no Casino.
NMLady Posted February 12, 2010 #8 Share Posted February 12, 2010 The only time I noticed the casino being closed is when we were in port. It will open again after sailing so many miles out. It is the same on all our cruises. I thought the same thing as the OP, that because when sailing at night, the ship is still within US waters so no gambling. I'm glad to see that I'm evidently wrong. My DH will be delighted.
Lookingforfacts Posted February 20, 2010 #9 Share Posted February 20, 2010 I'm pretty sure the casino is closed when you're in Glacier Bay. Otherwise it's open when you're sailing.
