The ironic part is that this thread has been neck and neck with the carnival is ghetto thread for most of the day. :D

and let us not dismiss cruising with a warrant for arrest....

Sorry, but you all have me cracking up. I know most of you are very law abiding citizens and the image of you all being smugglers is funny.

I'm sure Carnival knows about the smuggling in various ways. I also think they let some of it go through with no problem. There are PLENTY of people who buy alcohol onboard to make up the difference in my opinion. After all, you can't smuggle the DOD on.. although, I'm picturing someone with little umbrellas, pieces of fruit, and those Freddy glasses in their carryon..:D

Wow...I'm impressed you know me so well. Actually, I don't go to bars, and don't really drink unless I'm on vacation. I'm just not going to pay an exhorbant amount for alchohol if I don't HAVE to. You guys think that everyone who smuggles are cheap tight tales. That's not it at all....but why pay $50 a bottle when you can bring same bottle on for $15. That's Economics 101.

Actually, it's a pretty good picture of yourself! I learned that "exhorbant" and "alchohol" weren't real words a long time ago! How many cruises have you been on?

Well 1st off some of u are rude and u do not know that persons situation so dont judge them! as for me iam usally straight laced but i took my 1st cruise in feb by myself not know what to expect so i smuggled some malibu rum( cant tell u how ) but not to completly save money just so i could have in my room! i still spent a great amount on drinks, and they were good but very pricey so now i understand why people smuggle! carnival could make a tiny bit cheaper especially in this day and age !

i say smuggle all u want as long as u still spend money on the ship! i do like the keg idea , i wish they had kegs of jager or liquor wow that would yummy!

you and i think alike! love malibu can you possibly email me your trick? dsuwinski@bex.net

My opinion for what it's worth - each person sailing is allowed to bring onboard up to a 12 pack of soda or water or whatever that is non alcoholic. If you smuggle some forbidden drink onboard - chances are pretty good that that is not going to be all you will drink the entire cruise. You will still buy drinks at dinner/at the club/casino/by the pool - wherever. This is just something some people do to either A) ease a bit of the expense or B) bring on what 'they' like to drink. Either way, it's their choice (you know the whole free country thing) if they want to give it a whirl. Carnival is smart - I think - and they know people are 'smuggling' but they also probably know that more people would probably prefer to book with them because they allow them to bring on a small quantity of non alcoholic beverages. Everything is about gains and a company like this is not going to allow something to happen that makes them lose a ton of revenue. Think about it. And by the way, I love Malibu Rum too ;)

What does how many cruises I been on matter? It's quite simple, if I can avoid paying the high price for a drink, I will.

What? Exorbitant and alcohol are both words and I'm pretty sure you knew what he/she meant. You're argument is weak and your assumption puts you in the "judgmental" category. The picture I get from the poster is they have common sense. How many cruises have you been on ? not that I really care.
