tkjohn25 Posted February 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2010 I 've been on a few cruises but still fairly new to it. I just haven't figured out all the lingo yet. I think I know but just not completely sure. Thanks, John.
willysgrandma Posted February 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2010 They are mid-ship cabins that are along a "hump" in the ship - a kind of "semi-circle" - that stick out a little from the side of the ship. When you are sitting on your balcony, the people next to you can't easily see onto your balcony, nor you theirs. They are usually among the first cabins to be booked. If you take a look at my pictures, you can see what I am talking about in this picture: http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2452133500101417785djyrQa
tkjohn25 Posted February 17, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted February 17, 2010 Thanks for the quick response. I had half of it right anyway. One more question for ya if you don't mind. How do you know where these cabins are?
andrzej5914 Posted February 17, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2010 If you go to http://www.Royalcaribbean.com, pull up the ship you're interested in, then click on "Deck Plans". The hump cabins usually start with deck 7 and go up to deck 10 or so, but believe me, you won't be able you miss the obvious. The cabins are pretty much in the middle of the ship. reeran Posted February 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 17, 2010 Just pull up the deck map and call in, they can tell you which ones are available.

rcrdale Posted February 17, 2010 #8 Share Posted February 17, 2010 I got real lucky this year. I booked my first ever cruise in August of 2009. I kept looking for price drops by doing a fake booking. In January, I was doing a fake booking and saw that cabin 8318 was available. That is the center hump on the starboard side. I called Royal Caribbean right away and got it. This is going to be a wonderful cruise, 13 nights in the Southern Caribbean, center hump cabin, and away from all the snow we have.
