Ship S/E - taking taxi back early

What if you have to get a private taxi and return to the ship before your Carnival booked S/E is scheduled to return? (Taking small children and may be necessary to leave early). Will we hold up the return of others because they will be waiting for missing people? Is there anyone to notify or will it not matter. Thanks!

If I were in a situation where I had to leave an excursion early, I would probably find the tour guide or at least let someone else on the excursion know that you are leaving early.

I would let the tour guide know, as they will be looking for you before returning to the ship with the others on the tour. As for the ship itself, you log in and out of the ship with your S/S card so that would not be an issue. Again, let the tour guide know so that the tour is not held up while they wait or look for you.
