John&John Posted February 17, 2010 #26 Share Posted February 17, 2010 From my opinion. The OP wasn't asking about the actual 'rules.' I don't really understand your response to me... The way that you phrased your response to the OP doesn't provide any reason to think that this was your opinion. It sounded like you were stating "policy". You might want to say something like: In my opinion no shorts or open toe shoes for men () should be allowed in the dining room.
amethyst08 Posted February 17, 2010 #27 Share Posted February 17, 2010 And give up my chocolate melting cake and coffee? NEVER :D As long as I don't have to see armpit hair at dinner, I could care less what anyone is wearing, which is one reason that Carnival is a decent fit for me. HAHAHAHAHAHA!! Okay...I just spit water all over my desk. Did you say armpit hair. That's funny and nasty at the same time. :p
amethyst08 Posted February 17, 2010 #28 Share Posted February 17, 2010 I don't know any guy that wears "dress shorts" the instyle shorts arethe long shorts that have the large pockets, which are classified as "cargo shorts". Guys look funny wearing plain dress shorts. I would say that "cargo shorts" are fine. I think Carnival meant that if a guy wears shorts in the dining room, they are not to be "short shorts" which really look funny on a guy. We call those short shorts nut snugglies. :p Can I say that on this forum without getting into truoble?

A basic rule of thumb for guys is that they should look like they're going to play 9 holes of golf at a decent club or a public course with a dresscode. I personally don't have an issue with flip flops or sandals, unless the guy's got some foot hygiene issues that are really, really evident.
