Emerald Lake horseback riding

We will be in Skagway next June from 7am-8:30pm. We all want to go horseback riding at Emerald Lake & stop at the Yukon crossing to do the dog sledding. Joni offers tours at 10:30, 1:00, & 3:30. Can we realistically make the 10:30 tour? Will this cause us to be in a huge rush getting off the ship that morning? There will be a tour group at 1pm & we would like a more personal experience. Has anyone done the 3 hour tour to the waterfalls? Worth the extra time & money?

Also, for anyone that rented a car in Skagway, does Avis offer a car that seats 6?

Thanks!

From our experiences, the ships dock about an hour ahead of the schedule. THey have to have the port authority approve whatever it is they approve. We enjoy ordering breakfast in on the early morning port arrivals and then hit the gangplank. It is not near as difficult getting off as it is getting back on. You can make it. And the private tour people cannot afford you to miss the boat. They keep very good time. Make it all happen and enjoy every moment in Alaska.
