Mystery Dinner Theater for Teens

I am going on the Liberty in April and I just noticed that they will have the Mystery Dinner Theater on the first night which also happens to be my son's 14th birthday. I thought it might be a fun thing to do for his birthday. Has anyone gone to this with a teenager? Have they enjoyed it?

The dining time says 7 o'clock and I have read that the dinner takes at least 3 hours. Since it is the first night of the cruise and I know it's important for the kids to go to the teen club that night in order to meet people and start making friends, will this interfere with the teen club schedule?

Anyone had any experiences that would help me decide if it's a good idea?
