Seat belts for car seats in Alaskan tour buses?

Does anyone know if the tour buses in Alaskan ports have seat belts so that I can attach car seats? Either the ones from port in Juneau that will take us to the Glacier or the ones that are used by the ship tours. If they don't have the seat belts, can we legally hold the kids are on our laps? (12 mos and 3 yrs) I figure Ketchikan will be easy since we can walk around town but Juneau, Haines, & Victoria are ones we'll need transport. Seems like the city shuttle that runs in Victoria didn't have seat belts and it's quite a walk from the dock into town -- at least it was for us and we didn't have the 2 grandkids with us.

Are they full sized buses? Then they won't have seat belts and then yes, you can hold the kids on your laps. :)

 

When we talk about using car seats around here we are usually discussing the taxis and mini vans used on the smaller excursions.

 

So full sized buses - no seat belts - then no car seats.

None of the shuttle buses I have been on have seat belts either-- like the ones for the airport rental car agencies, hotels, our ~20 person tours in Montreal and Ottawa didn't either.

Thanks for the quick replies. That's what we thought. Neither of us can recall seeing seat belts on the big buses but then by the time we get in with the jackets, cameras, binocluars, etc. we can barely see the seats. Plus, we've never traveled with little kids on a cruise. Their parents will be on the cruise with us but we'll be their main caregivers since we've been to Alaska several times in the past and this is DD & SIL's first time to see our 49th state.
