guest relations manager?

Is "guest relations manager" the title of the "cruise director "on HAL ships or are they different people? Sorry for this seemingly unimportant question but would appreciate knowin the answer. TIA

The Guest Relations manager is the head of the Front Office. Above him/her is the Hotel Manager and above the Hotel Manager is the Captain.

The Cruise Director is known as the Cruise Director :D

The Guest Relations Manager is actually the head of the Front Office, or Purser's Desk. She/he essentially is the "face" of the hotel.

Ooops, DBA, you beat me to it!

No prob. But don't refer to it as the Purser's Desk... There is a Purser and he/she has a desk... But they aren't the one you would speak to in any kind of situation and the staff there are not "under" the Purser :)

The staff you will find at the Front office are:

Guest Relations Attendants

Guest Relations Supervisors

Guest Relations Managers

The Neptune Lounge Concierge(s) and Telephone Concierges (for 'Verandah Suites' and 'Superior Suites') are also part of this department.

DBA, you are of course absolutely correct. I was just using a term other lines use for their front desk in case the OP had sailed other lines before. I've actually come across cruisers who don't realize that it's the same basic function called by different names on different lines.
