Whasup Posted February 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2010 Hi Everyone and Thank you in advance for your help.:) We will be spending a day in this beautiful place and after reading thru many cc posts have decided to take taxi to Oia and explore. We will have a few hours. Can anyone advise where in Oia to start and which way to go without getting lost (a basic itinerary). Are there taxi stations? We wish to just take in some beautiful views, get some fantastic photos, visit a church, get a feel for the culture as a local, and enjoy a cocktail overlooking the beautiful sea. Seems prettty simple, but I don't know. Is there a website to view a little map of the village of Oia? Are there street names or should I say pathway names? It looks just awesome! Can't wait. Thanks!!!!!!:D
Fblack Posted February 22, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2010 We have been there twice on cruises. Oia is really pretty small and you don't really need a map. Unless you are a big shopper or slow eater you will not need a full day either. You can take a taxi or bus from Fira, The taxi will drop you off about 2 blocks from the main part of town. There really is one main street that runs down the center of the tourist area. Lots of shops, views, churches and places to have a drink. As for maps, just do a Google search and you will find them. See if this helps. http://mappery.com/map-of/Oia-Tourist-Map
