Cab vs Carnival provided transportation

Has any one taken a cab from the Tampa airport to the dock?Is it cheeper than taking what carnival provided bus

We were just wondering the same thing, but in reverse. There are four of us needing to get from the Tampa port to the airport after our cruise. (We're flying in the day before the cruise and staying at the Residence Inn.) Can we just get a cab at the airport when we disembark, and how much does it cost?

$25 flat feel for a taxi from TPA to the pier. For 4 pax with luggage, many taxi's are mini vans and they are the same price. The taxi stand is right around the corner from the pier exit and you can usually find one that will accommodate you' You might also want to call Yellow Cab of Tampa when you return and tell them what you need.

Take the taxi! I am not a fan of the Carnival transfers. Did that once, and I won't do it again. You have to wait for the bus to fill completely up before they leave, and it can be a wait of an hour or more. Same thing coming back from the cruise terminal....they have to load in all the luggage, fill up the bus, then drop passengers off (and unload luggage) at the various airline terminals.
