Chadzbrew Posted February 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2010 I see where Mexico has a ton of taxis that hold four people in them. Is it difficult to find one that will hold a family of five? We will be doing the Mexican Riviera(PV, Maz, Cabo). Thanks in advance
MSN-Travelers Posted February 22, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2010 I see where Mexico has a ton of taxis that hold four people in them. Is it difficult to find one that will hold a family of five? We will be doing the Mexican Riviera(PV, Maz, Cabo). Thanks in advance The port is served by a company (white/cream color vehicles) that has exclusive rights to transport passengers from the port property. They have vans that take larger groups of people. The fare is charged per person. Outside the port property, the the greater metro-Vallarta area is served by the city taxis (yellow color vehicles). I believe I saw one mini-van once a few years back. Generally, the city taxis carry a maximum of four passengers. It suits their zone based fare system and all drivers operate on an even playing field. Not the answer you were loking for. It might be possible to get the fifth person into a city taxi if that individual was a small child and sat on somebody's lap. (don't count on it because your driver will likely get in trouble) Split the family across two taxis or try the bus for the trip back to the port. Enjoy! Chadzbrew Posted February 24, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted February 24, 2010 Thanks for the reply. I guess specifically, we were wondering if we would be able to get a tour of Mazatlan, in a vehicle (Prefer open air), that would carry five passengers?
