i just want to make sure that my original phone call in to carnival was correct and you have to pay the full amount for the wedding package right when you book. and you cant make payments or have a grace period. what if you want to upgrade after you buy the cheaper package. is royal caribbean the same way.. just wondering. thanks

Yes, with Carnival you pay the cost upfront and all at once. If you choose to upgrade later, then you just pay the difference when you upgrade. However, they only allow one package type per day. So if another bride books the package you really want...you're out of luck. Pick the package you want up front to avoid the woulda-coulda-shouldas in the future. You don't want any regrets.

Hunniebee made a good point about not having to pay for the extras up front.

However, if you choose not to pay for the entertainment up front you chance loosing your choice if another bride reserves it first. Waiting till the last minute will cause you to pick whats left over. The DJ is almost always the first choice for brides...so if you want him, you need to get him first.
