hardingk Posted May 26, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2004 We are book on the Enchantment for Aug 30. There are a lot of great reviews on the Enchantment if you look at the review board. We just got off her sister ship, Legend of the Seas last week and really enjoyed the ship. I have never been on any carnival or Princess ships so I can't compare it to them, but it is a lot larger then the Nordic Empress, but sort of the same lay out. Our favorite place was the Solarium! Let me know if you can't find any reviews of the ship and I will e-mail them to you! ___________________________ RCL~Legend 5/2004, Navigator 8/2003, Majesty 7/2003, Radiance 4/2003, Monarch 8/2002, Nordic Empress 8/2001 Celebrity~Century 7/2001 & 7/1998, Horizon 7/1991 Future Cruises: Enchantment of the Seas 8/30/2004 Brilliance of the Seas 1/14/2005 Till Belize on the Enchantment of the Seas! Nan59 Posted May 26, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2004 We just sailed the Enchantment in March '04. We were traveling with six other families and all loved it. You don't say which direction you are planning on sailing, but if you go western, stopping at Belize, take an excursion there. There is really nothing there unless you do an excursion. One of the few ports that we truly didn't feel safe in outside the pier gates. Service is excellent on this ship. Food is fairly good. Definitely plenty of it throughout the ship. We, too, all loved the solarium. Don't miss the fries and pizza there. It was one of our favorite late night hangouts. Entertainment was great. Don't miss Beatlemania. We went to most of the shows, along with karoke, the game shows, etc. Just for your reference, we are all in our mid-40's with teens ranging from 14-18. Cruise director Matt Baker was a huge source of entertainment all on his own. He had an excellent staff working with him. Definitely would recommend this cruise to everyone. We've sailed RCCL, Carnival and Norwegian. This was our favorite so far. Would have sailed her again next spring break had she been going a different route our week. We've book the Voyager instead for 7 days. We're hoping the Voyager class boats are spectacular, since last year we paid 2800 for three of us for 5 days and this year for three of us on the Voyager for 7 days it jumped to 5200 for the same time period. We love to cruise, but if prices continue to climb like this, we'll have to give up this pleasure. Good luck with your Enchantment trip! Enjoy! jemingway Posted May 26, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 26, 2004 The Enchantment and the Imagination follow the same itineraries. The Enchantment is nicer and more impressive, but is usually significantly more expensive than the Imagination. I like the Imagination and it is a great value, but it is somewhat of a different product. It depends what you are looking for. The good part is you will be on a cruise ship either way and that ain't bad.
