Westin, Dawn or Divi Beach

We are visiting St. Maarten for a short day (depart at 5pm) on the Freedom. Plan is to go to Phillipsburgh to walk around and possibly do the Segway tour (kids 10 and 14). Then, I would like to just go to a local beach for a few hours. I have read that The Westin, Divi Beach and Dawn Beach are all close by. Can anyone recommend one over the other? Which is the closest to Phillipsburgh?

The Westin Hotel is on Dawn Beach and it is a large expansive beach. Little Bay is the beach that the Divi resort is on. I have not been to Dawn beach in many years but it gets good reviews from many on cc. It is a little farther, maybe 20 minutes from the pier where Little Bay is 5-7 minutes. Little Bay is nice for a couple of hours at the beach as well. I really like the views. With your short day in port and shopping and a segway tour I would probably suggest Little Bay. If you have more time then you think you could always change your mind and go to Dawn.
