How easy is it to find parking on St. Maarten/Martin?

Thinking about renting a van and would like to know how hard/easy it is to find parking about the island and in Marigot, Phillipsburg, Grand Case?

When? What are the dates?

Depends on what time of the year and how many cruise ships are in.

In Grand Case there is a large parking lot near all of the restaurants on the main street by the water. In Marigot there is a parking lot that runs along the ocean where the ferry to Anguilla leaves from. It is a large lot and although you may have to walk 10 minutes to where you want to be, you should find a spot. There are spots closer to the Marina Royale but they fill up early. I find that the most difficult place to find a spot is Philipsburg. There is a lot near the salt pond but even though it is a fair hike to Front Street it is still a challenge to find a spot here. I think that there is a paid parking lot that is closer and probably easier to get a spot in.

We will be arriving in St. Martin on Wednesday March 24th.

but there is a public pay lot right in the center of town and they might squeeze you in. Much easier in Marigot as there are free lots around the harbour near old and new ports.
