wannacruise655 Posted January 22, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2005 I just read the story..... 3465 pass. 1190 crew = 4655 total people 229 pass 18 crew got sick = 247 people got sick Do the numbers, that is about 5 % of total on board got ill. When someone in my house or office get sick it seems like anywhere from 20 % to 50 % of the crowd gets sick.... There you have it, you're much less likely to get sick on a ship.... another reason to BOOK A CRUISE !

Coolcruise02 Posted January 23, 2005 #6 Share Posted January 23, 2005 I saw the crawler on CNN this morning and I thought.... slow news day! :)
alexkrn46 Posted January 23, 2005 #7 Share Posted January 23, 2005 Once the percentage is over 5 % the CDC is notified, that is the way the news get the information. The concern when you are on a ship, it is a closed enviroment and potentially the virus could spread, it sounds like RCCL is on top of it though. Bassnote_1 Posted January 23, 2005 #8 Share Posted January 23, 2005 Seems I read somewhere on the boards that once you come down with symptoms, you get quarantined to your quarters. Anybody know or have experience with this?
ckrobyn Posted January 23, 2005 #9 Share Posted January 23, 2005 I saw the crawler on CNN this morning and I thought.... slow news day! :) I saw it too and promptly switched the channel so DH ( he's paranoid enough about seasickness let alone norwalk!) wouldn't see it! Must be slow at CNN is right
mbisson Posted January 23, 2005 #10 Share Posted January 23, 2005 I drank a couple pitchers of good beer and a bunch of cheap wine a couple times in college. Got those same symptoms. Guess I had a Norwalk "LIKE" virus. ;) -Monte
rcicruiser Posted January 23, 2005 #11 Share Posted January 23, 2005 It is that time of year when people get sick and instead of staying home go on vacation go to work and they make other people sick. They should stay home
