Hi everyone,

Cruising on the Ruby in January and was wondering if they still have the great sailaway parties they did a few years back? We're traveling with people that have never cruise before and would love for them to start the cruise off with a great party!

Thanks!

There is normally a sail-away party on every cruise up on deck. The quality (we have found) of the actual party depends mostly on the passengers participation. The cruise line does their part, so I would guess you will have a great sail-away to show your friends. ;)

The sail-a-way party is even better with your new cruising friends from your rollcall. :) Just set up a place to meet (like the Outrigger) after muster and then go from there.....:D:):D

We did that on our W. Caribbean Cruise on the Crown Feb 13 th. We meet a lot of nice people from the roll call and had a lot of laughs.

Hugh and Christine :)

We did this on the Sapphire last month and should warn you about this:

My wife and I did the boarding day "treasure hunt" where you get your cards stamped and then turn them in for the drawings during the sailaway party at the main pool area. After numerous draws and no wins for us, we went aft to the Outrigger to meet the CCers at the rollcall get together.

Unfortunately, we left the sailaway too early! Later that evening, friends told us that our ticket had been drawn for the final big $500 prize and we weren't there to claim it. Oh well, live and learn...
