ftelah Posted March 2, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2010 I have a college student going with us leaving this weekend on the Spirit and she just found out that she has a test she is going to have to take while we are gone and was told she could do it on the internet. Does anyone that has been on the Spirit recently know the best day or deal I will be able to get for internet minutes? When we were on the Sky a month ago they had a different special it seemed like everyday but we weren't in need of it then. Thanks for you help. Don Haynes Posted March 2, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2010 I would use an internet cafe at a port for cheaper faster servce. On a ship the internet is very slow and expensive.
familyof4cruising Posted March 2, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2010 Immediately I thought- on the last day;) thats when they make it 1/2 price. You either buy a pkg or pay .75 cents a minute. It's so slow sometimes.
Georgia Buckeye Posted March 2, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2010 We used the internet connection at the market on the pier in Guatemala. They had about 6 computers that were relatively fast and the cost was next to nothing. We also had a connection on board that was very expensive and slower than an old dial up service
garycarla Posted March 2, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2010 There is often a small special on the first day, and some others later. Usually get 10-20 extra minutes when you buy 100 or something like that. A small trick to getting the best out of your minutes onboard - use it during off hours when not so many people on online SHARING the same uplink. Speed is a bit better then. example - take the test late at night.
