CookieBird Posted March 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2010 Hi! I will be on the Valor in 19 days taking my 5 year old son as a sub for my husband (he can't make it at the last min). I am looking at the excursions offered through Carnival in Belize and there aren't many options for a 5 year old. I think the only one was Goff Cay and I don't really like the looks of the "beach" for kids. I am considered doing cave-tubing through either the .net or .com company. Can anyone tell me if cave tubing is dark/scary for 5 year old? Also for a kid would you recommend the .com or the .net company.
mk72ws67 Posted March 4, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2010 Hi CookieBird -- we took a just barely 5 year old girl cave tubing with cavetubing dot bz We had a great experience. The caves were wide and quite high. There were dark moments, but we all had head lamps and were linked together. The 5 year old was at the front with the guide in front of her, and they provided a kid size tube and a kid size life jacket. She had a great time tubing! The most challenging part for her was the 40 minute walk to the place where we started tubing. There was a well-established path, but it is uneven and quite a long way for little legs! She did great, and says it was worth it. Hope this helps -- have fun!
