As a smoker myself, I will just have to go along with the new rules, personally I'm not fussed about smoking in the cabin.

I think it would be reasonable to request that Cunard at least make the deck area that your permitted to smoke in a bit more than an ashtray on the bulkhead (wall) maybe a few seats available 24 hour a day, in an area sheltered from the elements somewhere that you can excess without getting your head blown off.

I would like to think that most nonsmokers (not antismokers) would say thats it's a reasonable request.

*Anti-smokers*, not "non-smokers"! I don't smoke, but I don't give a damn if you do it in your own cabin or on your balcony. Or out on deck. Personally, I don't even care if you smoke in the Casino, I'll just avoid it. Plenty of places onboard where there is no smoke.

Well I am a non smoker as well and I would say thay that is a very reasonable request, it is also good that your children dont see too many people smoking and think it is OK for them to start at some point

You see, to me that last remark is the type that shows how rude many non-smokers are. As if, smokers are so ignorant that they would go and blow smoke in your kid's face. I don't believe I would want you to blow in my kid's face either, but I would never say that to you.

Children tend to rebel against adults, thus it would seem more likely that the little darlings wouldn't smoke if the adults in their lives do. If you want a spot of utterly unscientific proof, not one of my three offspring smokes; most of the sprogs spawned by my anti (as opposed to non) smoking friends smoke like chimneys, just to annoy their parents. 'Twas ever thus...

Children tend to rebel against adults, thus it would seem more likely that the little darlings wouldn't smoke if the adults in their lives do. If you want a spot of utterly unscientific proof, not one of my three offspring smokes; most of the sprogs spawned by my anti (as opposed to non) smoking friends smoke like chimneys, just to annoy their parents. 'Twas ever thus...

Both my parents smoked, but I never I have. I don't actually remember rebelling as such (but then we are talking about sometime just after the end of the late Bronze Age and my memory isn't what it used to be), it just never struck me as a fun thing to do.

Well, I don't know what type of people you hang around with that would blow smoke in a child's face, but I doubt you would find that happening on a Cunard ship. And I don't think that is the norm for smokers. And if you for one moment thought that there was a chance of that happening , why on earth would you go to a smoking area with your child, anyway?

I dont your comments were rude at all, I have walked around on deck and had smoke blown toward me, not meanful but it has happened
