I've just found your review today and have had such a wonderful time reading about your trip and seeing your pictures. You have a great attitude toward life that everyone who takes a cruise should "adopt" for at least that one week! I got teary reading about your daughter and will also now walk in her honor in addition to my late mother who died of colon cancer 5 years ago. We are cruising on May 30th (I'm also in education - school librarian/media specialist so we have to wait for school to be out) and can't wait! Thanks so much for sharing with us! Keep those pictures coming, lady!

Hi Media1966, Thanks for your kind words. I know you will LOVE the Legend, especially since you will be celebrating the end of the school year when you go.

I'll walk for your mom when I do the Relay for Life in June. It is so important that whatever we do has a connection to someone we know, or someone who was special to the person we know. It just makes those walks all the more meaningful.

Have a wonderful time on your cruise. I'll look for some more pictures that will be of interest to post.

Our bar hop is a go also for 4/21!!!! We have 7 people as far as I know. Hope to get more....but we will have fun with our without more people. How did you find out who your guide is. I need to know what most people wore and what to bring with (besides cash!!).

I emailed Tom and asked him who our driver/guide would be. He responded he didn't know who the driver will be, but that Greg will be our guide.

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law. Cancer will be defeated, the question is when. In the meantime, step-by-step we will all do our part.

I'm excited that both of you have enough for your Hop to be a GO!

As for the vehicle for the Bar Hop, we had a coach bus (minus a bathroom.) I thing Greg is guide for the hops. I'm not sure if you will use the bus or a van. Check with Tom.

As I recall, everyone was casually dressed, capris, shorts, t-shirts etc. No on brought bathing suits that I know of.

Just take your sense of adventure, you camera, and desire to have a great time !

Jane, I have just read your entire review and even though I do not have a cruise booked on the Legand, I LOVED your review! I have smiled, laughed and cried all in the last 30 mins!!

Now we are cruising on the Dream in Oct and would love to have cruisemates like you and your DH!

Will be also walking the cure in memory of your lovely daughter...

Thanks so much for your kind words, Tina. You were kind enough to share your pictures with me months ago. I intented to find your email address to tell you about our fun day on the Hop, but I never did. So glad I saw you on the thread so I could respond.

We loved the Legend so much, we came home and booked a cruise on the Miracle, sister ship of the Legend. We are going with the CC Miracle Maniacs whom I've gotten to know here on CC. We're going to St. Kitts, St. Martin and St. Lucia, leaving on Jan. 30. Can't wait.

Who knows, we may be on the same ship one of these days.

I appreciate your desire to walk for Cindy. I think the charity has changed now on the ships, but whatever it is, is a worthy cause. Have fun on the Dream !

Very good review.

Regarding Belize;

When we were there 2 years ago we were warned to "not venture off the reservation", so to speak. We never made it past the dock where the tender dropped us off! We took an excursion to a beach/island but never say anything of Belize City. I like your post about the place you went, Belize Cultural Center, or something like that. You mentioned it had water activities too. How far is it from the dock? Are there any other places/things that we should look for in Belize on our next visit???

Hi Cigar Dude,

The Old Belize Cultural Center was probably about a 15 minute ride from the port, if that. Our cousin was driving so I didn't pay that much attention, but it didn't take us long to return to the port. Did I have any pictures in my post of Old Belize City ? If not, I'll post a few pictures later today.

Some of our group members went on a fishing excursion, some went tubing in a cave, some went to the Mayan ruins , another couple went ziplining. Everyone had a good time on whatever excursion they selected. I think all of them did private excursions, not the one sponsored by Carnival. I'm still in touch with those in our group who did the various excursions. What would you like for me to ask them

Belize is a very poor nation, but poor shoudl not mean, 'scary,' as some have suggested. I think it is too bad it gets such, 'bad press.' I have read some very positive reviews of Belize so I hope you will not hesitate to go beyond the port.

My Mom was on the Legend the week after this poster's cruise. She also uses a C-Pap. She slept on the "couch" bed as her two granddaughters were in the bed. There's an outlet right there. I would imagine you would need 10' or so if you're in the bed. The duct tape sounded like a good idea or you could just plug and un plug each day. The main thing is that you use the C-pap! :D Have a wonderful cruise.

Thank you all so much for the C-pap tips - my husband using one and we will be on the Legion in December - these tips are great!!

Wow, thanks so much for your comments, Tazco. I'm always surprised when I see it 'resurface.'

We loved our cruise on the Miracle with the Maniacs, now we are looking forward to Oct. when we sail on the Glory to Bermuda.

Next up, The Breeze on March 2, 2013 with the Maniacs. Maybe we'll meet one of these days. Happy cruising !

I would sure enjoy cruising with you and your husband. I love scrapbooking to but I do it on the computer and then record on dvd's. Reading your review was almost like listening to my dear aunt tell a story. She was my favorite person in the world. She is the only person I can truly say that she never said an unkind word about anyone. She raised us after my mother died of cancer at 34 and I will always be grateful to her.
