Olympic Airlines

Has anyone flew with Olympic? Are they any better/worse than any other airline?

Flew with them in Nov 2001, Athens to London(Heathrow) and in Nov 2008 Athens to Rome. Fine both times, no problems what so ever. Left/arrived on time. Coincidentaly, in 2007, our charter flight to Varadero,Cuba was a former Olympic Airline aircraft. One of my better flights to Cuba. FWIW. rollie

Olympic Air started operations in Sept of 09. It is the successor to Olympic Airlines.

 

The new owners have money and have plans to buy new planes.

 

The old airlines was poorly regarded. I have not flown the the new incarnation.

Olympic Airlines had the reputation of being one of the safest European airlines.

It has been recently privatised and now operates under the name of Olympic Air. The new management has just announced that it will join forces with “Aegean”, the other big private airline in Greece, so that both will survive these difficult times. I don’t think there should be any concern about flying with Olympic Air, at least not more than with any other big European airline.

(You will find, quite frankly, that Olympic is not well rated and the reviews are dismal)
