Carnival Glory!

Hey

About one month away I am going on the glory with my boyfriend, we are so excited, it's our first time! I wanted to see who has gone recently and how everything on the board was. Were their fun games/shows/food, if you could post some pics that would be GREAT!

Also, we choose late dining, does that mean that we might be kind of too late for the shows that start around 8ish? I heard their was a dating game challenge, that seems fun, bingo too? I wonder if you can really win at the casino big?!

We were on the Glory in June and will be on her in 3 days! She is a great ship

and really enjoyed this ship and its crew.

I am not sure about the casino to say as we don't play. But have seen some

slots with large jackpots... But I no expert on that one.

There is bingo every day on the ship. Many enjoy playing it before the shows.

You can win some good hard cash.

There is a dating game you can try to get in it will be in the capers once on board.

Late night sitting in the MDR. You eat I believe is a 8:30pm, but you go to the

show before hand. So while early sitting is eating you enjoy the show.

We haven't done "Glory" for a year or so, but have done her a bunch of times. Always had a GREAT cruise aboard this ship, so worry not!

If you have late seating, (8:30) then your BIG shows will be before you eat, and the other shows (juggler, comic, etc.) will usually be after you eat, at around 10:30. You won't miss any BINGO, as they make sure you're available for that. ;) There are lots of other shows that are excellent as well. The newleywed, not so newleywed show is always a HOOT, so don't miss that one. Carnival "Legends" show the last night of your cruise at 10:30 is also very very good, and a lot of the entertainment in that show is performed by your fellow guests.

Have a super time aboard a GREAT ship,,,,"Glory".

If there is ever anything that you really want to go to, and it conflicts with your dinner time, you can always eat at the buffet that night instead of the main dining room. We usually eat at the buffet at least one night due to some schedule conflict.

On our first cruise, we played Bingo almost every time they had it. At the end of the cruise, we were shocked how much money we had spent on it. We have been on two cruises since then and haven't gone NEAR the bingo!!!

Our luck in the casino comes and goes of course, but on our last cruise both DH and I were pleased. I won a couple hundred bucks over the course of the week (blackjack), and DH won about six hundred playing poker. But of course, some nights were better than others. We spent a LOT of late nights in the casino during that cruise.

Have fun on the Glory. I have been on her sister ship, the Valor, and loved it!

We just got back from the Glory 10 days ago and I have posted copies of the Capers which will give you an idea of what "shows' and other activities are scheduled while you will be dining.

Late dining is 8:15 and the dining room never opened earlier than 8:15.

There were a couple of things we would have liked to have done but couldn't because our choice of dining. One was the Glory Live Game Show and that was at 9 PM.

Next cruise we will try your time dining!

If you like live comedy, the Glory is your ship! It's one of only 2 ships (Dream is the other) that has a "Comedy Club" on board. 2 comedians perform the first two nights (alternating times so you don't have to miss anything), then 2 more do the same so you can see 4 different shows over the course of the week (or 8 if you go to both the "PG" and "R" shows).

Just got off the Glory last week. Had a balcony suite. Overall was good, but I didn't have as good a time as on the Liberty last year which is abit newer.

The good..

Dining room staff and food

Comedy club

Casino (staff was especially excellent)

Customer service (when there was a problem they usually tried to solve it right away)

The bad..

My bed was very bad

Entertainment was so-so

A few things in my room broke which consumed a decent amount of my time

Buffet was 90% the same everyday and that 90% wasn't very good

Breakfast was very basic at both the buffet and in the dining room.. you're not going to get blown away at any of the breakfasts

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey guys! Only 19 more days till I leave for vacation! I am soooo excited, anyone else going on the April 11th glory? I had a few questions, are their hairdryers in each room? How many shoes do people usually bring/suitcases? What are a few of the most important things to pack?

They do have hairdryers but TAKE YOUR OWN. haha Their hairdryers are not very good and if you have thick hair it will take along time to dry. My daughter has thick hair and liked to never got her hair dry and few times she just had to let it dry ourside. As far as packing, I OVERPACKED... didnt wear half of what I brought or wear half the shoes I brought. You will more or less be in a bathing suit/ cover up or shorts during the day so you really just need an outfit for the evening. I took alot and wore hardly any of it. I took dress pants and didn't wear any of them... seemed to wear more jeans w/ a cute top and sandles or flip flops at night after dinner.

Have fun!:)
