St. Martin Beach Rendezvous

Recommended Posts

If it is the excursion where you go to Orient Beach, you can do it very easily on your own. You just take a taxi over to Orient, and grab one (there are LOTS) to come back. There is no charge to go on the beach. You can rent a chair and umbrella for a reasonable price. If you would like a smaller beach w/ better snorkeling, we did Dawn Beach and loved it. They have food in both places also.

Whatever you decide, you will have a fantastic time.

We did that thru RCCL. We were given a free drink after arrival, chairs

with umbrellas in a reserved area. Advice: Bypass the free drink line

and grab a chair and umbrella on the front row. It won't be long before

you see why. The only annoyance was that there where too many peddlers selling trinkets, etc. Drinks and lunch are included.

We've done Orient Beach Rendezvous 3 times. It suits us very well - very relaxing, nice lounge chairs with cushion, umbrella, drink and a pretty good lunch. The beach is gorgeous. It's easy to ignore the vendors - just say "no thanks" and avoid making eye contact with them - they quickly move on to the next person. I'm sure you will enjoy this excursion.

We did the Orient Bay all you can drink (rum punch, mostly punch) excursion the week of 1/9/05. We booked it on the ship and had a bus pick us up and bring us there. There are a bunch of beach chairs (umbrellas had to be paid for extra), tons of people bugging you to buy stuff, and big waves with clear water. If you take a 15-20min walk down the beach you can go to the "clothing optional" part. I personally thought it was a waste of money for the rum punch part and it would have been better to just take a taxi there. Have a blast!
