thinking of booking Sept. 2011 going out of Barcelona on western med. but 9 days? had myself (this years cruises) booking the NCL Jade with the perfect ports of call I wanted but 2011 it changes to the Epic and no stop in Monte Carlo...

This question is very easy to answer. I recommend choosing the cruise, especially in Europe, based on the itinerary. The Magic itinerary is far superior to the Epic itinerary because (1) it's longer, which is a benefit when you travel all the way across the pond, and (2) it includes more port stops of good duration. Specifically, you have 11 hours in Monaco, which will allow you to visit more than one town on the French Riviera if you wish, and you have a generous 15 hours in Civitavecchia, all of which you'll need to explore Roma. Have a great trip! BTW, we're going on the 12 day Magic in August.
