Having been to Jamaica a few times, we'll be exploring "leaving the kids on board" option.

I don't need the hassles of saying 'no thanks mon' for more than just me and my dw, as we try to navigate to or from a cab or beach.

I can only imagine the tugs at heart strings with our 5 yr olds in tow. No thanks.

What i think would be best for you visiting Jamaica with the kids,

is you should do some research and hook up with a private tour operator and customize something to suite you and your family being on the island, go at your own pace and leisurely time, look into that option, i think you should show the kids Jamaica, and you shouldn't let it miss you!

One Love.

Yeah, just stick with an organized tour and have fun. We're doing the all-inclusive resort pass this go-round. That's always a good fall-back plan if you can't find a tour you're excited about. Dunn's River Falls was fun but I'd think someone would have to stay on the side with the 2 year old.

There is a beach right where the ship docks. It is wide and the water is calm and shallow. We (3 gals in our late 30's) had a blast just soaking up the sun and floating in the water. As you make your way to the end of the pier (when leaving the ship) it is the beach that is on the left.
