BroncosFan2010 Posted March 21, 2010 #29 Share Posted March 21, 2010 My cruise dreams are usually pretty good, and I usually start having them from the time we book.... I have been dreaming about our upcoming cruise for about 8 months! Only 4.5 more to go!
AlisonoftheSeas Posted March 21, 2010 #30 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Too funny. I have a few recurring cruise dreams (nightmares?) In the first, the ship very slowly flips over. Very Poiseidon Adventure. In the second, a cabin attendant is showing my to my "room" which turns out to be a hammock stretched across a hallway. imsulin Posted March 21, 2010 #31 Share Posted March 21, 2010 My nightmare cruise involved well-behaved kids and no equally snarky verbal exchanges between older cruisers and parents. Pool chairs were pre- labelled "Hog" or "Non-Hog". Caloric, fat content, and nutritional information was given with each DOD. The unisex Speedo ratio was kept at 5%. Onboard tips were willingly donated by the US port luggage handler who previously stole two of my specialty luggage tags. I butted in front of myself in the buffet line. I smuggled my local liquor store onboard with no problems. The cruise line gladly footed the bill for my med-evac due to a painful in-grown toenail. I enjoyed Grape Nehi, RC Cola, Fresca, and Tab at no extra charge. I used my Voter Registration card to board. I wore my 1964 Prom Dress on formal night over my jeans. The ship's Casino gave free drinks. I smoked on the Bridge Tour, and also while ironing the Prom Dress in my cabin. The elevators worked 24/7. I was given a voucher for a free future cruise because my independently booked air was 15 minutes early. The ship's pools were filled with imported and heated pure spring water. There were no ship photographers or art auctions. We were forced to endure steaks and lobster in the buffet. The complimentary ship's shuttle to and from the airport involved a 12-seat limo rather than the full stretch. The Chocolate Buffet was only held three times a day. And then, cruisecritic was disbanded due to lack of controversy. Total nightmare.
maddawg271 Posted March 21, 2010 #32 Share Posted March 21, 2010 My worst cruise was the last one I was on... We left Bayonne on the Explorer Saturday @ 5:00 and about midnight or so the first night, we hit an "unexpected" storm... 120 knot winds and 25-30 foot seas... I spent all of Sunday (2nd day) in bed... not a very pleasant ride, Bermuda was BEAUTIFUL as usual, but we hit another storm on the way back... so another sea day lost to queasiness... snoozycruisee Posted March 21, 2010 #34 Share Posted March 21, 2010 My Nightmare was that we had no walls in our Cabin separating the Bedroom from the Toilet, Sink or Shower. There was no Closet, only clothes hooks to use. I kept thinking that it was due to cost saving measures and wish that I had paid more for a better cabin !! Gennee Posted March 21, 2010 #36 Share Posted March 21, 2010 The worst one was after we'd booked an aft balcony. Only our "balcony" was just a fenced off area on a public deck; no view at all. Worse, the people using that deck were cutting through our cabin and hopping the railing to get there. They'd ignore us telling them to stop and for some reason we couldn't lock our doors to keep them out. Even after we piled all of our furniture in front of the door, they'd just push it open and come right through to get to the deck. It's weird how such a ridiculously unreal situation can make sense and seem real in a dream. At least it's good for a laugh when I wake up. :p
Desert Cruizers Posted March 21, 2010 #37 Share Posted March 21, 2010 I first started reading and thought this actually happened until I got to the Cell phone part, , stopped and reread. :D I think I had a dream during our 2nd cruise in 2004, but can't recall it. :D. I know I have had thoughts about being on the Balcony and locked out. Gennee now that would have been wild.

k8ster72 Posted March 21, 2010 #40 Share Posted March 21, 2010 We were stopped by this guy in San Juan! They had "sailed down there on their sailboat" and the "police wouldn't help." He saw BF's UW hat and said he was from Milwaukee. He's still around?! We were stopped buy that guy early this past December. Wasn't sure if he was for real or not so only gave him a couple of bucks. If I see him during our next cruise it will be a very interesting conversation.

kharrison__15 Posted March 22, 2010 #43 Share Posted March 22, 2010 after reading the original post yesterday, I had my very first "cruise nightmare". I will be on my first sailing this coming June. I hope it's not like my dream, which was more funny than anything. The ship pulled out of port too fast and we were dining off the back end and all got thrown off. They threw us little paddle boards to swim back up. They threw apple slices off the ship to distract the fish and sea creatures from us while we tried to pick our food up off of the ocean floor... once we were back on board we were treated like royalty, each given our own personal suite with Kohler bathroom fixtures (I'm from just south of Kohler in WI and they have a funny commericial that I imitated in my dream...) Anyway, if ever I were to fall off board, I hope it would end up being something like this. However, the ship was also quite small. I remember going up top to watch the stars and thinking that it wasn't a large ship, more like a big charter boat on Lake Michigan! :p
