Days Inn or Hampton Inn-Miami

Hi,

Has anyone stayed at the Days Inn Miami Int'l Airport or the Hampton Inn Miami Airport South? We are looking for one night pre-cruise and nothing too expensive, so we are thinking about one of these. Any information from anyone would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Macy:o

We stayed at the Day's Inn when we cruised in 12/03. Our flight ended up getting in late (close to midnight) and the shuttle was no longer running. Our taxi driver told us to not leave the hotel during the night. She said we were not in a good area. The hotel itself was very run down, though it was clean enough. I haven't had very good luck with Day's Inn in a couple different states. I'd research and maybe find something better. I'm sure that other's can give you suggestions on places they have stayed that were nicer.

Good luck to you, and happy cruising!

Thank you for your honest response. It sounds like the Days Inn at the airport is a bad choice. I don't think I would be comfy in a bad area of Miami.

Maybe someone else will give me some suggestions of good places to stay that are not too expensive, with a pool and a restaurant.

Thanks,

Macy

  • 4 weeks later...

We stayed at the Days Inn Airport

It was terrible.

It was dirty and over booked. They told us our reservation was cancelled and tryed to charge us $40 more. Gave us used towels................

They let the locals nap in the rooms while the guests are away.

DO NOT STAY THERE!!!!!

I believe we stayed in the Day's Inn downtown - it was right across of the main hospital. Though I don't believe it was as bad as the one described above (airport Day's Inn), it wasn't the best.

I would suggest looking at something else.

There a several Days Inn Airport locations near MIA. Some areas good some bad.

However, I would check into Hampton. Again, locations vary. I just heard most of them have been upgraded and offer a pre-set hot breakfast in addition to all the cold and toaster items they have always had.
