louann123 Posted April 28, 2010 #51 Share Posted April 28, 2010 Kids don't sit in chairs long enough to be hogs....... No, but the chair hog ratio mostly rises with age. Most of the chair hogs I have seen are either parents with kids, or 50+. Just my observation..................
poobears Posted April 28, 2010 #52 Share Posted April 28, 2010 On Fantasy last year it was strictly enforced. Very nice back there. Hope it's the same on Fascination this year. I love kids have 4 kids and 2 step kids of my own but when I am in the adult area I don't want to deal with kids or teens. They have the rest of the ship to play, they don't need to be there. MustardStation Posted April 28, 2010 #53 Share Posted April 28, 2010 At 20, you are still a kid??? Am I? I beg to differ.
poobears Posted April 28, 2010 #54 Share Posted April 28, 2010 The rule is 21 if they allow a 20yr old then next thing you have 19 yr olds saying well I'm legally an adult, 18 yr olds and it's all down hill from there. An age has to be set and enforced without exceptions being made just like in the casino at the bars etc. It's 21 so that is where the cut off is. Don't worry in another year you'll be old enough to use it for the rest of your life. Not a big deal.
MrsZee Posted April 29, 2010 #55 Share Posted April 29, 2010 Have to wonder though if a 20 year old walks into the Serenity area with a towel and a book and sits down and isn't rowdy, are they really gonna ask for ID? I doubt it.
MustardStation Posted April 29, 2010 #56 Share Posted April 29, 2010 Exactly. I like to sit with my parents, who like to sit where it's quiet. I am quiet as well, I'll sit there, minding my own business, reading a book with headphones in. That's all.
CruiserinCarlsbad Posted April 29, 2010 #57 Share Posted April 29, 2010 I can't imagine that anyone would have a problem with a 20-year-old who wants to sit with her parents in the Serenity area. It's not like she would be ruining anyone else's vacation.
michigyrl Posted April 29, 2010 #58 Share Posted April 29, 2010 The age is 21? My DD is 20...I hope she can enjoy the area with me.

Just my observation.................. Snarky posts with your wife's account?!:rolleyes:Tsk. My DS is 19 and shares Courtney's view about small children. He plans to join us in that area. You know if 18 is good enough to get in the casino, it ought to be good enough to sit in the adults area.....
CBTwi Posted April 29, 2010 #60 Share Posted April 29, 2010 Im 19 and I go to the Serenity area no problem. IMO as long as you aren't running around acting like a twirp and look to be of age you shouldnt have a problem with fellow guests or Carnival personnel :)

IMO as long as you aren't running around acting like a twirp and look to be of age you shouldnt have a problem with fellow guests or Carnival personnel :) I believe this is as it should be -- judge the individual based on their behavior, not an arbitrary age (within reason) -- an 18+ year old who carries themselves and conducts themselves in a way that respects the intention of the Serenity deck should be welcome. That being said, the cruise line chose to draw the line at 21+, so anyone 18-20 who finds themselves there should play it very cool (and will probably go unnoticed.) louann123 Posted April 29, 2010 #62 Share Posted April 29, 2010 I would gladly trade ages with you. I could be 20 again, and you could sit in the Serenity area.. Enjoy being young enough to be kept out of some places.
thecruiser7 Posted April 30, 2010 #63 Share Posted April 30, 2010 Got your attention...didn't I. I know that on most converted top optional decks, that are now adult only, top optional is still not a problem. Is this a problem on these decks? I'm not aware of any signs or rules that this is not allowed. I would think that as long as it's restriced to 21 & over & there's some type of privacy from other decks, this would not be a problem. I'm sure the pre-pubescent boys playing mini-putt on the deck above would say it wasn't a problem at all.
